Jesko von Koenigsegg

The succesful entrepreneur

Jesko von Koenigsegg is a successful serial entrepreneur perhaps best known for his contributions to the company Koenigsegg Automotive. Koenigsegg Automotive was founded by Jesko’s son, Christian, and Jesko played a vital role in the development of the company. It all started when Jesko first took his son Christian to a showing of Pinchcliffe Grand Prix, a Norwegian animated film that first sparked Christian’s interest in cars. Jesko and his wife Brita nurtured their son’s interest in practical engineering, encouraging him as he rebuilt monkey bikes and mopeds and tuned boat engines.

Using Jesko’s history as a successful entrepreneur and Brita’s experience running a renowned millinery business in Stockholm, they passed on their business acumen to their son, leading to his founding of Koenigsegg Automotive. Right after selling his own business in 1995, Jesko von Koenigsegg joined his son in Olofstrom to help him develop the Koenigsegg company. Jesko dedicated himself to his son’s company, using his business experience - and his life savings - to help build the company. He served as the first Chairman of the Koenigsegg board, and he used his business acumen to build an experienced board with the structures and practices necessary to help the newly created company flourish.

Jesko von Koenigsegg poured his experience, support, and financial investment into Koenigsegg Automotive, leading his son Christian to name his newest mega car the Koenigsegg Jesko in honour of his father. Jesko has loved attending Koenigsegg’s promotional events ever since their first vehicle display at the Cannes Film Festival in 1997. Even though he’s no longer involved with the day-to-day running of the company, he still attends the company’s stand at the Geneva Motor Show every year. The naming of the new Koenigsegg Jesko mega car at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show was in recognition of Jesko’s priceless contributions to and enthusiasm for the company.

In addition to his role at Koenigsegg Automotive and his entrepreneurial drive, Jesko is filled with a passion for horses and horse racing. He not only spent 20 years as a successful amateur jockey, but he also served as a volunteer administrator and board member for the sport for over 40 years. In fact, the Koenigsegg Jesko mega car (his namesake) was finished in white with green accents, the same colours worn by riders from the Koenigsegg stables. Jesko’s love of horses and horse racing runs in the family, as his father Harold bred and raced horses as a gentleman jockey. Jesko has even passed this onto his two daughters, who also share his passion for horses.

As a successful entrepreneur driven by his passion for life and family, Jesko von Koenigsegg is a real role model for future entrepreneurs. Just as Jesko brought his drive and determination to Koenigsegg Automotive, he brings the same spirit of determination to us at TIDLÖS as a friend of the brand.
